Dale Dewayne Davis, 80, of Blountstown, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016 in Blountstown. He was born on Nov. 29, 1935 in Clarksville to L.R. and Lennie Linton Davis.

He retired from the Department of Children and Family Services with the State of Florida. He had lived in Calhoun County most of his life and was a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a brother, L.R. Davis, Jr.; five sisters, Reo McGeachy, Irene Davis Jones Brock, Estelle Davis Shelton O’Bryan, Lennie Davis Faircloth and Christelle Davis Hall; his first wife, Lou Jean Shuler Davis; his second wife, Johnnie Elizabeth Richards Shuler Davis; and a stepdaughter, Kimberly Shuler Maddox.

Survivors include three daughters, Donna Jean Davis Ostlund-Woodward and her husband, Troy of Dunkirk, MD, Zann Davis Geiger and her husband, Shane of Hosford and Chloe Dale Davis Mautz and her husband, Andrew of Clearfield, UT; two stepsons, John P. “Bubby” Shuler and his wife, Melissa of Bristol and Sandy Rae Shuler and his wife, Kelly of Newberry, SC; a stepdaughter, Roni Sue Shuler Semore and her husband, Kerry of Perry, GA; a brother, Broward David and his wife, Margaret of Clarksville; a sister, Videlle Williams of DeFuniak Springs; 21 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday April 23 at Peavy Funeral Home with Reverend David Odum officiating. Interment followed in Nettle Ridge Cemetery in Blountstown.

In lieu of flowers Dale requested that you take your family out to lunch or dinner.
