Andrew "Andy" Lee Blankenship, 39, husband of Nora Hughes Blankenship, died Friday, July 1, 2016. A native of Kettering, OH, he was the son of Randel Lee (Donna) Blankenship and Nancy McClatchey Blankenship. Andy lived in Athens for over 30 years and was well loved by his community. He is known for being the owner of Classic City Detail & Customs, a member of Athens Church and a devoted husband and father. Survivors include his son Asher Hughes Blankenship; sister: Melissa Lee (Kevin) Wood of Clarksville; paternal grandfather: Frank (Judy) Blankenship; three nephews and one niece. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at Lord and Stephens East with Rev. Mike Koslowsky officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Friday, July 8, 2016 at Lord & Stephens East Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a memorial scholarship fund for Andy's son, Asher at any Athens First Bank and Trust location. Lord & Stephens East is in charge of arrangements.
