Lydia Jean Marshall McDonald, 90, widow of Pete McDonald, whom she was married to for sixty-nine wonderful years, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, July 4, 2016. She was born May 5th, 1926 in Scott County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Justice and Juanita Bridges Marshall. Lydia was retired from the office of Dr. Phillip Crossen. She was a strong and faithful Christian at Georgetown Baptist Church for over seventy five years, having served as a deacon, youth director, teacher, musician, member of the McDonald Trio and numerous church committees. She was a volunteer at Georgetown Hospital for several years. Lydia was fondly known to her family and friends as, "Grams". She is survived by her three children, Connie (Tom) Sturgill, Suzanne Rogers and John G. (Tillie) McDonald; her only granddaughter, Brandi Rogers; five grandsons, Michael (Veronica) Scott, Bryan (Olia) Scott, Jon (Emma) Scott, John (April) McDonald, Jr. and Lee McDonald; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson and her devoted little ZuZu. In addition to her parents and husband, Lydia was preceded in death by her siblings, Martha Lotterhos, Chuck Marshall, Neal Marshall, Hiram Marshall and Ann Shearer. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 6th from 5 to 8pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, where services will be held on Thursday at 1pm with Rev. Richard Weekley, Rev. Ken Holdron, Rev. Alan Redditt and Rev. Tim Schindler officiating. Burial will be at Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Kentucky.
