Joe Harold “Pete” Mason, 75, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at his home in Humboldt. Services will be held at Shelton-Hunt Funeral Home in Humboldt, Tennessee, on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 2 p.m., with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 1, 2016, from 5 – 9 p.m.

Mr. Mason was born in Humboldt, Tennessee, on June 24, 1941, to Jack Clarence Mason and Jewell Hawks Mason. He was a retired member of the National Guard, and was a supervisor at the Dana Corporation. Mr. Mason was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a daughter, Stephanie Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Mason of Humboldt; two daughters, Tanya Martin Evans (Butch) of Medina, Tennessee, and Tyann Walters (Scotty) of Humboldt; one son, Landon Mason (Liz) of Humboldt; one brother, Jackie Mason of Humboldt; eight grandchildren, Danielle Martin, Kristen Martin, Ashley Martin, Rachel Mason, Grace Mason, Morgan Walters, Katherine Walters, and Ayla Walters; and two great grandchildren, Kenleigh Flowers and Alayna Flowers.
