Christopher David Peterson died in a tragic accident on July 3, 2016. He was 42.

Chris was born on November 11, 1973 in Jackson, MI to his parents, David and Susan Peterson. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Education in 1997. He married Sarah Repp in 2002. They and their 2 children, Owen and Stephen, lived in Ann Arbor, where he worked as an English teacher for Ann Arbor Public Schools.

Chris had a lifelong interest in cultures (and music in particular) from all around the world. For most of his professional life he taught non-native English speakers, and he also hosted radio programs showcasing world music at WCBN in Ann Arbor.

Chris is survived by his wife, Sarah, his children, Owen and Stephen, and his brother, Brian. He is preceded in death by his mother, Susan, and his father, David.
