Barbara J. Goodson, age 82, of Saint Paris passed away on July 4, 2016 in the Mercy McAuley Center, Urbana. Barbara was born on July 24, 1933 in Champaign County, a daughter of the late Homer and Ada (Boan) Atchison. Barbara married John T. Goodson on November 29, 1966 and he preceded her in death on October 19, 2015. She is survived by four children; Sandra Cline and Vonnie Griswold of Saint Paris, OH, John (Tammy) Deskins of Hudson, FL, and Vivian (Kevin) Scott of Missouri, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers: Larry (Sandra) Atchison of Florida, Dick (Delores) Atchison of Dayton, OH, and Harry (Nancy) Atchison of Urbana, OH. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda Gerber. Barbara was a member of the Myrtle Tree Baptist Church and a homemaker. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. in the Atkins-Shively Funeral Home, 216 S. Springfield Street, St. Paris with Reverend Rick Clos of the Lighthouse Tabernacle presiding. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery, N. St. Rt. 560, Urbana, Ohio.
