School Section:
In the death of John Petri Sr., which occurred at the home of his son,
John early Monday morning, one of the county's oldest residents passed
to final rest. His death was sudden and unexpected. Mr. Petri was born
in Prussia, Germany, January 18, 1838 and came to this country when a
small boy. He was one of the best known residents of Manitowoc county
and his demise brings keen sorrow to many older residents. Mr. Petri is
survived by four children, John from here, Mrs. Nick Schimmel of Shoto,
Mrs. Peter Giefer and Miss Regina of Milwaukee. Funeral services will be
held Thursday morning at nine o'clock. Interment at Mishicot.
