Mr. McGinnis, a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Bell South after 33 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father, W. H. McGinnis.
He is survived by his wife, Jean McGinnis; two daughters, Jamie Richardson of Manassas, Va., and Tara Chandler of Athens; one son, Dusty McGinnis of Athens; mother, Kathyrn McGinnis; two sisters, Cindy Cantrell and Lynn Wells; and two brothers, Ronny McGinnis and Chris McGinnis, all of Hazel Green.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Concord Cemetery with the Rev. Lefty Perry officiating. Berryhill Funeral Home is assisting the family.
