DAVENPORT — Dennis M. Donovan, 53, a resident of Davenport, died Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus. He passed away with family at his side following numerous health-related issues.
Funeral services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4105 Division St., Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. The family will greet friends Tuesday, July 5, 2016, from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home in Davenport. There will be additional visitation Wednesday in the Gathering Space at the church from 9:30 a.m. until Mass time.
Dennis Michael Donovan was born Feb. 27, 1963, in Dubuque, a son of Dorrance Ignatius and Donna Mae (Heinricy) Donovan. He was a 1981 graduate of West High School.
In earlier years Dennis had worked for the Scott County Jail for 13 years; he also worked for the Davenport Elks, and most recently Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop.
Dennis enjoyed spending time with his family; he especially cherished the time spent with his two nieces and his nephew. He was an avid sports fan and cheered the Chicago Bears and the Iowa Hawkeyes football and basketball teams. He treasured many memories from trips he took during much healthy years when he had the opportunity to travel to Ireland and Mexico.

Those left to honor his memory include his siblings, Dave (Mary) Donovan, LeClaire, Denise Simons, and Doug Donovan, all of Davenport; two nieces, Kayla Simons and Alex Donovan, and a nephew, Ben Donovan; as well as numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Dale A. Donovan, in 1995. May they rest on peace.
