Felix was the fourth of six children born to his parents.

He married Nannie Greeson in about 1896. At the time of the 1900 census they were living at Lutts, Wayne County, Tennessee. Their daughter Gladys was born there in 1901.

In about 1907, Felix, along with three siblings and brother-in-Samuel Jasper Greeson, moved to Dora, New Mexico to homestead land. They are found there at the time of the 1910 census of Roosevelt County, New Mexico. All parties obtained homestead property. However, the landscape was not to their liking. In about 1912 his siblings moved to Johnston County, Oklahoma. He and Nancy returned to Wayne County,Tennessee.

A daughter, Dola Copeland, was born in Wayne County in 1916.

By the time of the 1920 census Felix and Nancy had moved to Lawrenceburg, Tennessee where he was the proprietor of a general merchandise store. They remained there for the rest of their lives.
