David was born on November 13, 1944 in Rowan County to the late Margaret Ludwick and the late Jasper Clay “Jack” Honeycutt.
David was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. After the marines, he worked as a machine operator at NC Finishing Company.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Gold Hill. He loved to work at the church and to help others. Fishing was his favorite pass-time.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Charles “Buddy” Honeycutt and sisters Violet Eagle and Nolie Myers.
