Ruel Dale Root, 57, of Crabtree, died suddenly Saturday, July 2, 2016, in UPMC Presbyterian as the result of a vehicle accident. He was born Oct. 21, 1958, in Greensburg, a son of the late Laverne Root. Dale was employed for over 30 years at Specialty Tires of Indiana. He was a former New Alexandria Fireman and EMT for Mutual Aid. He loved spending time with his granddaughter, camping, going to see the Elk in Benezette and Sunday morning breakfast with his brother.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Rachel Lynn Root. Dale is survived by his daughter, Renee C. Root, of Latrobe; his granddaughter, Alexa Lynn Jelley; his brother, kenneth Root (Teresa), of North Huntingdon; and a niece, LeAnn Paulone (Michael) and their daughter Alyssa, all of North Huntingdon.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the McCable Funeral Home, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery.
