Davis, Calif., Feb. 22 (AP)-- Two men were killed here last night when their light plane clipped a tree and crashed attempting to land at the university airport.
The two were Otto K. Headington of Oakland, Calif., owner of the plane, and Gerald Paul Allende, veterans administration hospital attendant from Livermore, Calif.
Attendants at the airport, two miles west of Davis, said the plane came in too low, clipped the tree and crashed 200 yards south of the runway on the bank of Putah creek.
The bodies were recovered from the demolished plane and taken to the office of coroner W. C. McNary.
