Jerry Aune, 48, Nisswa, loving husband, father, son, brother and friend passed away at his home on Sunday September 23, 2007 after a long and heroic battle with ocular melanoma. Funeral Services will be Wednesday September 26, 2007 at St. Christophers Catholic Church in Nisswa with Fr. George Zeck, Fr. Bruce Engen, Deacon David Craig and Deacon Mike Knuth officiating. Interment will follow services at Greenwood Cemetery in Nisswa. The relatives will receive friends starting at 10 AM at the church. Those attending the celebration of Jerrys life are asked to please dress casually at his request.
Jerry was born on January 11, 1959 at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis. He grew up in Circle Pines, lived in Backus and spent his final years in Nisswa.
Many homes have been beautifully decorated with furniture and cabinetry built by this master craftsmans hands. Jerry loved beautiful gardens and was a deeply spiritual family man. This gentle, kind, compassionate man will be sorely missed by those of us who were so very fortunate to have had the pleasure of knowing him. We are all so glad to know that he no longer suffers and that he is free as a bird flying somewhere over the rainbow.
Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Jessie; three sons, Joshua Aune, of West Palm Beach, FL, Jordan Aune, of Nisswa, Jacob Aune, of Nisswa; special family friend, Hannah Thoele; his mother, Marlys Aune, of Circle Pines; brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Anne Aune, and their children, Katie and Sam, of Lino Lakes; he is also survived by Jessies family; mother-in-law and father in law; Jean and Del Martineau, of Outing; sister-in-law, Vickie Zelinka, and her children, Ryan and Gina; sister-in-law and her husband, Becky and Jeff Hillesheim, and their children Theresa and Peter. He was preceded in death by his father, Norris.
