William was on a raft taking logs to Frankfort when he died of a fever and was buried on the riverbank somewhere above Boonesborough. He was married to Rhoda Jane Tincher and they had 5 kids. They lived in Owsley Co., KY. He was born on Pilot View Ridge which was near Old Buckeye which no longer exists. In the early 1990s I was driving down I-75 near Lexington, KY when there was a news item on the radio about someone finding a body in a grave upstream of Boonesboro and it was thought to be a recent murder victim. However it was determined to be a very old but well preserved body from pioneer times. When I came back from my trip, I called the radio station and the local newspaper and nobody knew anything about the story. I wonder if this could have been William although I suppose many unknown people are buried along the river.
