Mrs. James Novak Sr., 80, who has been residing with a son and daughter-in-law,
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Novak, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon at
Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev.
John Haen will officiate and burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
Mrs. Novak, nee Rose Robinson, was born Jan. 21, 1880, in the Town of Gibson,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Robinson. She was married Oct. 14,
1889 (sic), at Sheboygan and the couple lived there three years, moving then
to Oconto and farming near that city until 1920. The couple came to Mishicot
and farmed until 1948, retiring and moving to Manitowoc.
Surviving are the husband; seven sons, James Jr., Anton and John of Manitowoc,
Edward of Rt. 1, Maribel, Alvin of Mishicot, Joseph of Rt. 1, Whitelaw, and
Chester of Rt. 2, Manitowoc; six daughters, Mrs. Victor Belongia and Mrs. Ervin
Wilda of Manitowoc, Mrs. Henry Hoffman of Kaukauna, Mrs. Anton Krystofick of
Lena and Mrs. Orville Flentje and Mrs. Edward Krejcarek of Mishicot; a brother,
Joseph Robinson of Mishicot; 51 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and a
great great grandchild.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday where the Rosary will
be recited at 8:30 p.m.
