Janie was born on August 22, 1952 in Mercedes, TX to her parents Melvin and Betty Rutherford.
She was preceded in death by her father and brothers Gordon and Kenneth Rutherford.
Janie was survived by her mother Betty L. Rutherford and husband Carl Jager, daughter; Tina Gandy (Daniel Combs), and sisters; Linda Rease and husband Eugene, Doris Bengtson and husband Keith, and Tanya Watson and husband Will, grandson Justin Combs, and many other relatives and friends.
