Sharon Lee Dilley was born in Urbana on Aug. 27, 1941, the eldest daughter of Edward and Margaret Dilley. She graduated from Urbana High School in 1959, and retired from her job as administrative secretary for the vice president of business and finance at the University of Illinois in 2005.
Sharon married Harlan E. Holt on Feb. 18, 1961, and raised their three children in Pesotum: Deborah "Debbie" (Doug) Reinhart of Pesotum, Deanna "Dee" Hines of Philo and Alan (Christina) Holt of Pesotum.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by a sister, Kathy (James) Stahly of Bloomington, and a brother, Stan (Susan) Dilley of Buckeye, Ariz.
Sharon was blessed with six grandchildren: Hilary (Andrew) Musson, Benjamin Reinhart, Nathaniel Reinhart, Annalea Hines, Brooke (Tyson) Farney and Dylan Holt; and a great-granddaughter, Mia Farney.
Sharon had such a powerful impact with her love of family and friends. She was a beloved member of Meadowbrook Church in Champaign where she was a mighty prayer warrior. She facilitated many Bible studies and always made people feel special.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 8, at Meadowbrook Church, Champaign. Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Meadowbrook Church.
