MACKIN -- Edward S., beloved husband for 48 years of Mary Lou and loving father of the Mackin/O'Rourke clan, went to be with Our Lord on Monday evening from his home on Lake Hudson. Born in Duarte, CA in 1932 and a resident of Tulsa for 37 years, Ed leaves behind a proud legacy of 11 children, 22 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Ed was an active booster of Bishop Kelley High School and St. Mary Catholic Church and School, where his volunteer coaching career included baseball, basketball, football and softball. His love of, and dedication to youth sports helped develop the character and touched the lives of numerous individuals for over 25 years. He was also a long standing supporter of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane Athletics. An Air Force veteran and graduate of Loyola University in Los Angeles, Ed loved world travel, literature, sports and above all, his family. He is survived by: his wife, Mary Lou; his brother, Thomas William Mackin; children, Brigid O'Rourke; Patrick O'Rourke and his children, Shannon, Terry, Erin and Caitlin; Brian O'Rourke and his sons, Casey and Scott; Steve and Lyn Mackin and their children, Kyle and Katy; Moirna O'Rourke, her husband, Kevin Hart and her daughter, Marie Zemler; Tim and Mavis Mackin and their children, Daniel, Devin and Dana; Randy and Kelli Mackin and their sons, Paul and Adam; Dennis and Michelle Mackin and their children, Jennifer and Chris King, Andrea, Dennis, Emily and Taylor and their grandson, Hayden King; John and Mary O'Rourke and their children, Helen and Robert; Shelley Mackin and her son, Kyle; and Melissa and her husband, Terry Beers. A wonderful father, grandfather, husband and friend, Ed will be greatly missed by his family and all those that were blessed by his life. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at the Church of St. Mary, Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the School of St. Mary Education Trust Fund.
