Gary Joe Hickey of Farmington passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, in Farmington. He was born on Feb. 7, 1946, in Durango, Colo., to Bill and Maxine Hickey. He was the oldest of two boys. Gary received a scholarship and attended barber school in Denver, Colo. He went to work in the oil field for a number of years. He ran several of the family businesses, including the Shoe Hogan, The Little Trading Post and Flui-tec. Gary loved the outdoors, and he loved to hunt and fish. He was a family man, he loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren, and he enjoyed telling great stories about days past. Gary looked forward to a day when "He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and mourning nor outcry, nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Revelations 21:14
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5661 College Blvd. in Farmington.
