BLACKSHEAR ‹ Nell Gene Boyette Strickland Tuten, 72, passed away Friday afternoon (Nov. 10, 2006), at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

Born in Wayne County, she had lived in Pierce County all of her life. She had been a seamstress with Julie Hat and was known for her love of helping others. She was a member of Ritch Baptist Church but had also attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She was a daughter of the late Nolen C. and Sarah Bell Cason Boyette, and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Beal Strickland, and her second husband, William Warren Tuten; one grandchild, Wesley Wayne Martin; three sisters, Scecila Murray, Juliette Chancey and Nancy King; one brother, James Robert Boyette.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and will also be remembered as hardworking.

Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, Beverly Ann Strickland, of Blackshear, Gloria and Jesse Trull and Jeannett and Scott Eunice, all of Hoboken, and Jeannie Tuten, of Patterson; two sisters, Betty Ann Denison and Donna Murray, both of Patterson; seven grandchildren, Micheal Wayne (Susan) Martin, Darren M. Drawdy, Dan (Joy) Driggers, Brent Miller, Kelcey Smith, Brandon Eunice and Lily Eunice; five great- grandchildren, Sebastian Martin, Meghan Cheyenne Martin, Dakota Martin, Preston Brook Drawdy and Robert Jewell; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral will be held this afternoon at 3 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online register at www.pearsontreadwell.com.
