Tulia, Texas — Floyd “Bud” Richardson, 94, died Thursday, June 31, 2016 in Tulia.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Central Church of Christ with Mr. Roger Arnold officiating. Graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday at Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey, Texas with Mr. Stuart Smith officiating. Funeral services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia.
A visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 pm Monday, July 4, 2016 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Bud was born on December 10, 1921 to Joe and Clara Richardson in Turkey, Texas. He graduated from Turkey High School in 1940. A little after graduation he went to the US Army when war was declared. He served four years overseas. He married Alice Geisler on November 9, 1946 in Lubbock. He farmed for a couple of years and he went to work for GTE in 1951 for 25 years where he retired and in 1977 they came to live in Tulia and worked for Mid-Plains Rural Telephone Company and retired from there in 1986. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ and was active at Senior Citizens.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Lloyd Richardson and Roy Richardson, one sister: Lorene Setliff.
He is survived by his wife: Alice Richardson of Tulia, two daughters: Paula Jo Michaud and husband Sonny of Fort Fairfield, ME; Karla Needham and husband Greg of Tulia, TX; four grandchildren: Shane Speed, Kiska Butler, Kimberly Dannenberg and Kassie Bice and five great grandchildren.
