Nethalie "Lovey" Meissner, age 98, formerly of 9213 County Trunk B, Two Rivers,
died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, at North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center,
Manitowoc.
Nethalie was born Sept. 21, 1908, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Emil and
Lydia Jens Dickert. She was baptized Oct. 18, 1908, and confirmed April, 9,
1922, by Pastor Karl Machmiller, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc. On Sept. 12, 1931, she married Arthur Meissner at Immanuel Evangelical
Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2000.
Nethalie was a member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies
Bible Hour. She was also on many committees and volunteered at the Hamilton Home
in Two Rivers.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Dale and Karmen Meissner, Two
Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law: Lois and Peter Eckley, Two Rivers; eight
grandchildren: Peggy (Riley) Westphal, Fond du Lac; Linda Radder, Milwaukee; Mary
(Douglas) Demrow, Footville; Sarah Binversie, Whitelaw; Steven (Jean) Eckley, Two
Rivers; Michael (Amy) Eckley, Manitowoc; Mitchell (Deborah) Meissner, Crowley,
Texas; Marc (Kelly) Meissner, both of Mishicot; 16 great-grandchildren: Torah and
Shirah Meissner, Crowley, Texas; Mickenzie and Morgan Meissner, Mishicot; Ryan
(Nora) Westphal, Arizona; Greta and William Westphal, Fond du Lac; Adam Schroeder,
Milwaukee; Emily Eckley, Two Rivers; Nathan and Jordan Eckley, Manitowoc; Bradley,
Philip, Brock, and Andrew Binversie, all of Whitelaw; Megan Demrow, Footville;
one sister: Ethel Markoski, Manitowoc; one sister-in-law: Anne Dickert, Manitowoc;
other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents,
husband: Arthur; two brothers: Raymond Dickert and Harold Dickert; two sisters:
Olyphia Duzeski and Lenora Olson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at St. Peter's
Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mishicot. The Rev. Robert Johannes will officiate.
Burial will follow at Mishicot Public Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at
the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Mishicot.
The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, Manitowoc, is assisting the family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and caregivers
at North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center.
