Joseph B. Thompson
The death of Joseph B. Thompson occurred at Delhi, Iowa, on Saturday, February 22, 1913, at the age of 71 years.
Joseph B. Thompson was born in Clinton, Michigan, on December 29, 1841, and came to Iowa with his parents in the early 50's. He enlisted as bugler in Company 1, Second Iowa cavalry on August 4, 1961, and was mustered out on September 19, 1865. He came to Delhi, where he lived for many years and was employed in the Delhi Monitor printing office. He was a faithful and efficient printer and was associated with the printing offices of this city for a considerable length of time.
Mr. Thompson was the last surviving member of a large family.
He was a member of the J. M. Halbrook Post, G.A.R., at Delhi, and the funeral services at the grave were in charge of the Sons of Veterans.
The funeral services were held from the Methodist Episcopal church at Delhi on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. S. Skinner officiating. Interment was made in the Delhi cemetery.
