Mrs. Ida Meissner, 85, of 2009A Clark St., Manitowoc, died late
Tuesday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where she
had been a patient five weeks.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Lutheran
Church, Mishicot. The Rev. David Worgull will officiate and burial
will be in Mishicot Cemetery. The former Ida Zeddies was born July 13,
1877, in the Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late
Adolph and Anna Krause Zeddies. She was married to Henry Meissner at
Two Rivers Nov. 19, 1898, and the couple farmed the Meissner homestead
on Rt. 2, Two Rivers. He died in 1923. Mrs. Meissner was a member of
St. Peter Lutheran Church, Mishicot, and had been employed at Holy
Family Hospital from 1945 until 1958.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Wilke, of Manitowoc, and Mrs.
Harold Meyer, of Two Rivers; a son Arthur of Rt. 2, Two Rivers; seven
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Three sisters and three
brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Thursday
until 10 a.m. Friday when the casket will be moved to the church where
the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
