Raymond Gunderson was the son of Colonel Clarence H. Gunderson and his wife Belmar S. Gunderson. He was a member of the West Point class of 1955. While at the Military Academy he met and married his wife, Ann L. Rutherford of Virginia. They were together for 57 years before she died in 2012. He was survived by a sister, two children, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
