Clyde was born in Chester, Utah on February 18, 1935 to Willis D. and Iris Ethel Buchanan Cloward. He was best buddies with his cousin, JoAnn Jones Gibson, who was born on the same day.
Clyde received his education in Moroni, Utah. He had many fond memories of his school days and never missed a school reunion.
He grew up on a dairy farm where he learned a strong work ethic, which stayed with him throughout his life. To him, a firm hand shake was a true and binding promise.
Clyde loved hunting, fishing, and the smell of pines. Later in life he took up 4-wheeling with his wife as his co-pilot while enjoying God's country from the mountain tops to the desert.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 30 years as a brakeman. He fulfilled a Salt Lake City Temple mission and part of a Stake mission.
He married Verna Janette Bigler April 15, 1955 in the Manti Temple. They were blessed with four children: Wendell (Roxanne), Morris (Melinda), Dean (Linda) and Marsha Cloward Perry (Craig Perry, deceased).
Survived by his wife, Verna; four children, 13 grandchildren, 19.5 great grandchildren and brother Lamar (Shirleen) Cloward. Preceded in death by parents, sisters Fern and Verna and son-in-law Craig Perry.
Funeral Services for Clyde will be held Friday, July 1st, at 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Church located at 140 North 400 West, Orem, Utah, where a Viewing will be held prior from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment in Fountain Green Cemetery.
