Charlotte Virginia ‘Ginny’ Baldwin
MOUNT VERNON — Charlotte Virginia “Ginny” Baldwin, 89, of Mount Vernon, passed away Friday, July 1, 2016, at Autumn Health Care surrounded by her family.

Ginny was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Glosgow, W.Va., to the late Herbert and Goldie (Kirkwood) Wright.

Virginia know as “Ginny” to her friends, was a member of the Green Valley United Methodist Church and of the “Ladies Elks” of Mount Vernon. Virginia enjoyed being part of gardening clubs and showing flowers at the Knox County Fair. She cared for her 27 flower beds and large vegetable gardens. Virginia was known for canning the vegetables from her garden.
Ginny loved and enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She was a very nurturing, kind and generous lady who always had time for her family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Robert Baldwin of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Kim (Gregg) Coe of Mount Vernon, Aaron (Mari) Baldwin of Arizona and Keith (Jennifer) Conkle of Huntington, W.Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte Baldwin, Cara and Lindsey Conkle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Baldwin; a son, Charles S. Baldwin; and daughter, Vickie Conkle-Baldwin. Friends may call Sunday, July 10, from 2-4 p.m., at Lasater Funeral Home, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road in Mount Vernon, where funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
