Jack Alfred Lane, 87, of Kittanning died Sunday, June 26, 2016. He was born in Verona, and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Jack worked as a bartender at Lane’s Inn in West Kittanning, and as a warehouseman for Dean-Phipps in Kittanning, and Fox Grocer in Butler.

He was a member of the Faith Presbyterian Church in Kittanning, where he taught Sunday school.

His memberships included the Junior Mechanics, Kittanning Elks, and Kittanning Eagles.

He coached West Kittanning and Pine Hill Little League baseball, where he won several league championships. He also coached West Kittanning men’s softball.

Jack liked camping, golfing, gardening, fishing, hunting, dancing, going for rides, eating out, and parties. He was an animal lover. Also he was a Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins fan.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Betty (Barnett) Lane; six children, John (Diane), Rick (Jean), Sherry (Bruce), Rodger (Tina) Tammy (Rick, and Missy (Tom); eight grandchildren, John, Alecia (Rob), Cara (Matt), Richel (Josh), Jake, Joey (Lindsey), Alex, and Keaton; four great-grandchildren, Johnny, Alyssa, JD, and Ella; and one greatgreat grandchild, Aubree; and his loving Bassett Hound “Princess Cloe Megan Lane.”

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received from 2-8 p.m. Saturday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Faith Presbyterian Church, 150 Butler Road in East Franklin, where additional viewing will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service with the Rev. Kathy Davis officiating. Interment will be in the Cowan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s honor to the Faith Presbyterian Church, 150 Butler Road Kittanning, or to the Orphans of the Storm Animal Shelter, 11878 State Route 85 Kittanning, Pa. 16201.
