Donna Louise (Baxter) Conner passed away Saturday morning Aug. 21, 2010. Donna was born and raised on a farm east of Arkansas City, KS., and attended the Parker one-room school. She graduated from ACHS in 1952. Donna was married to Bill Conner of Winfield, KS., on May 15, 1955. They celebrated 55 years of marriage this past May. Donna and Bill were active in the First Baptist Church and enjoyed participating in many fun church trips as well as mission trips to neighboring states and Mexico. Donna was instrumental in the early beginnings of the Community Ministry at First Baptist. She served as Senior Adult Missions chairperson, began the clothes closet ministry, worked in the food pantry and spent hours organizing and planning. She touched lives in a special way through this ministry. Donna was an accountant at FAA in OKC for many years. Donna was a master seamstress creating many clothes, quilts, knitted, crocheted and cross-stitched treasures for her family and for charity. She also loved her flower garden and the birds that visited her back yard. Donna is preceded in death by parents Harold and Della (Harshfield) Baxter and two older brothers, Frank and Richard. Survivors include her husband Bill of the home; son, Rick and wife Jean of Denver; daughter, Linda and husband Dale Anderson of Norman; four grandchildren, Jenny and husband Dan Card of OKC, Kevin Conner of Murfreesboro, TN, Abby Conner of Nashville, TN and Robby Anderson of Prescott, AZ; one brother, Kenneth Baxter of Herrington, KS; one sister, Kathleen Kolarik of Wichita, KS; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Donna is preceded in death by parents Harold and Della (Harshfield) Baxter and two older brothers, Frank and Richard. Survivors include her husband Bill of the home; son, Rick and wife Jean of Denver; daughter, Linda and husband Dale Anderson of Norman; four grandchildren, Jenny and husband Dan Card of OKC, Kevin Conner of Murfreesboro, TN, Abby Conner of Nashville, TN and Robby Anderson of Prescott, AZ; one brother, Kenneth Baxter of Herrington, KS; one sister, Kathleen Kolarik of Wichita, KS; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Visitation will be come and go from 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Monday, Aug. 23, 2010 at Havenbrook Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Norman with interment following in the I.O.O.F.
