Lou Rean married her husband John Dealous Smith in Texas, and had three children, Kenneth, Daniel (Dan) and Lue Fern.
Lou had several occupations in her time, including being a certified mental health technician, a salesperson at Buttercream and Eiseman bakeries in Napa, and finally retired after 20 plus years in the food services department at the Veterans Home of California in Yountville at the age of 62.
Lou Rean loved attending social affairs, going to the Elks Lodge events, flower gardening in her backyard, sewing, cooking, taking day trips into San Francisco, and entertaining company.
She ultimately moved from Napa, California, to Roseburg, Oregon, in 2010, where her son Dan lives currently. She lived independently in an apartment for several years, until finally moving into Bridgewood Rivers Assisted Living, where she ultimately passed on.
She is survived by her sister Annie Lee Auguston; as well as all three of her children Kenneth Kem, Dan Smith and Lue Fern Bracha. She left behind her grandchildren, as well as several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Roseburg Seventh-day Adventist Church. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Lookingglass Community Cemetery.
