Juanita Dragon, age 82, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center. She was born April 26, 1934, in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of Harry L. and Ethel E. (Lucas) Brady and had been an area resident most of her life. On June 14, 1952, she married John J. Dragon and together they shared 46 years of love and memories before his death in 1999. A member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing Pinochle, camping, and in her younger years, she liked to dance. However, her greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she loved spending time with her family.
Her survivors include her children, Karen D. Hurst of Austinburg, James A. "Jim" (Chris) Dragon of Saybrook, and John J. Dragon Jr. of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Michael, Shawn, Erin, Josh, Kylie, JJ and Joey; step-grandchildren, Mike and Jodi; great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Natalie, Lillianna, Bradley, Jackson, Keegan, Levi, Lucas, Jordan and Mica; step-great-grandchildren, Sam, Abby and Brooke; brother, Robert (Barbara) Brady of Saybrook; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and in-laws, all of whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Dragon; son, Larry "Buck" Dragon; grandson, Lucas (Cristal, survives) Dragon; her parents, Harry L. and Ethel E. (Lucas) Brady; brothers, Ronald Brady (in infancy), Charles Brady and Harry Brady Jr.; and sister, Brenda Snyder. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 30th, at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
Additional visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Service at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 1st, at the Funeral Home. The Rev. June Begany, Pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ashtabula, will officiate. Burial will be Saybrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Wife of John J Dragon (13 June 1931 Sheffield OH--18 Apr 1999 Cleveland OH) who was the son of Paul Dragon (b 28 Jan 1898 Czechoslovakia) and Mary Butchko (16 Aug 1898 PA--19 Feb 1964 Ashtabula). Paul was the son of George Dragon (1864 Praha Czech.--28 Jan 1922 Bradenville PA, son of Michael Dragon and Mary Rapcka) and Elizabeth Afton (Apr 1868 Austria--15 Mar 1920 Bradenville, dau of Andrew Afton and Mary Trojanovich). George and Elizabeth are buried in St Marys Cemetery in Bradenville.
