Jennie Martin Bell, age 96, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Friday, June 8, 2007, at her residence. She was born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on January 6, 1911, to the late Marion Delville and Helen Hamilton Martin. Mrs. Bell was a member of the Cynthiana Baptist Church and a graduate of Cynthiana High School, had attended Bernau College, in Georgia, and was a University of Kentucky graduate. She had taught school at Oddville School and Connersville School in Harrison County.

Her husband, Marshall Bell, preceded her in death. Survivors include: two daughters, Marion Vest, of Cynthiana, and Martha Jones, of Lexington; five grandchildren, Mark (Susan) Vest, of Pinetop, Arizona, Richard (Naomi) Jones, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Samantha (Michael) Wright, of Lexington, Susan McKinney, of Cynthiana, and Elizabeth (Harry) Fogler, of Wilmore, Kentucky; and four great-grandchildren, Oliver Wright, Hank Fogler, Jennie Vest and Carrie Vest.

Graveside services were conducted at Battle Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Kentucky Baptist Home for Children. P.O. Box 1429, Mt. Washington, Kentucky 49947-1429; Hospice of the Bluegrass; or American Heart Association. Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
