Leon was born in Standish, MI the oldest son of Andrew and Anna (Pietrusinska) Fournier. He married Olinda E. Kramer on February 15, 1941. They had four children, Nancy, Kathleen, Leon and Rebecca. Leon was a veteran of WWII receiving a purple heart and gold cluster. He was employed at General Motors, Buick Division in Flint retiring on Sept. 30, 1977. Leon and Linda moved to East Tawas in 1978. Linda died suddenly in 1979. Leon was active in the Prayer group and Ushers at St. Joseph Catholic Church and in the Tawas Senior Citizens Center. 1986 Leon found a new love, Betty Chrisenske. Betty and her four sons, Gary Dean, Dale and Allen welcomed Leon into their extended family. Betty passed away in 1991. Leon fought valiantly against bone cancer diagnosed in 1991 and lost his battle in 1993.
