Julia Greta Ellis, 84, passed away on June 24, 2016, in her home. She was a native of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a retired nurse. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016, with visiting from 1 p.m. Rev. Jesse B. Bilberry Jr. will conduct the service. Interment will be in Southern Memorial Gardens. Survivors include her husband, Roby Ellis Sr.; 2 daughters, Harriet Ellis and Joyce E. Pierre; 3 sons, Larry Ellis, Kenneth Ellis and Douglas Ellis; 1 brother, Johnny Owens of Killeen, Texas; 22 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and son Roby R. Ellis Jr. Arrangements are by Scott's Bluff Morticians, (225) 775-3440.
