Our beloved mother, Patricia Reed Westmoreland Hays, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 in Baytown, Texas. "Pat" was born on December 9} 1930 in EI Dorado, Arkansas. She grew up in Arkansas and Texas, finishing high school in Thrall, Texas. After graduating from high school she went to work for South Western Bell Telephone in Taylor and Austin, Texas. She met John Thomas Hays, Sr. in Austin, Texas and married him on January 30, 1955. Pat was a fantastic homemaker for her husband and 3 sons. She was a supportive wife and wonderful mother making terrific meals, helping with homework and was a wizard managing the family budget. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, her parents and 1 sister. Pat is survived by her sons, Dr. John T. Hays, Jr. and Melanie Hays Dr. Chris D. Hays, Sr. and wife Kim, Scott Hays and wife Wendy. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Christopher Hays, Jr., Kayla Hays, Jake Hays and Jill, Quinn and Cole Brownfield. Also survived by sisters, Billie Kovar and husband Roy, Lazelle Brogger and brother, J.R. Westmoreland and wife Joyce, numerous other loving relatives and friends. She will be really missed by her special dog friend Leo, who was her constant companion to the end. Our morn's greatest joy in life was being a mother to her children. She never had to say that to her boys, we always knew it. Pat was laid to rest on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Taylor City Cemetery in Taylor, Texas.
