Thelma (Farmer) Barnes of Annapolis, MO passed away June 11, 2016 at her residence at the age of 93 years. She was born September 27, 1922 in Patterson, MO the daughter of the late John Maud and Mamie Jane (Cunningham) Farmer.

On November 22, 1941 she was united in marriage to Oather Moses Barnes who preceded her in death on June 25, 1982. To this union two children were born; Dennis Barnes of Ironton, Missouri and Nancy and husband Robert Hodges of Overland, Missouri. Thelma is also survived by five grandchildren; James Hodges, Timothy Hodges, Denise Hodges, Shelley Savage, and Shawn Barnes Barron, five great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends.

Thelma was preceded in death by two sisters; Opal McNail and Ethel Albert, her grandson, Martin Barnes, her daughter-in-law, Doris Barnes, and several brothers-in-law.

Thelma was a 1940 graduate of Centerville High School. She was a member of the Annapolis Church of the Nazarene. Thelma worked for the Ford dealership in Ironton, Brown Shoe Company, State Farm Insurance Co., The Baptist Home, Arcadia Valley Schools, and the South Iron School District. Thelma enjoyed working and being around people.
