Ellen C. Ray, 87, a retired registered nurse, died Monday, June 27, 2016 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson.
Services are 2:00 pm Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Wilcox Chapel with Bro. Tim Freeny officiating. Visitation is Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Burial is in Pleasant Hill Baptist Cemetery. Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Ray, a native of Leake County, was past president of the VFW Ladies Aux. She was a member of the first graduation class of registered nurses at St. Dominic Hospital.
Survivors include: a brother, Harvey Bozeman of Missouri; 2 sisters, Bert Ross of Savannah, TN and Diane Dinicola of Hollywood, FL; 1 daughter, Dorothy Brown of Missouri; 1 granddaughter, Betty Jo Depue; 3 grandsons; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Beverly Ann Wilson and John Lord.
