Mr. Trott was born June 20, 1945, in Staunton, a son of the late Sydney Edward Sr. and Katherine Ellen (Wilson) Trott.
Tommy was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and usher and was a very active member.
He retired in June 2007 as a right-of-way agent from the Va. Dept. of Transportation with 39 years of service. He was a member of the Staunton Fraternal Order of the Elks Lodge 29. Tommy loved to travel and enjoyed spending time at the beach. His favorite times were spent in the company of his family and dear friends celebrating life.
Tommy found great pleasure in attending and "cheering on" his children and grandchildren in all their activities. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was loved by all.
In addition to his loving wife of 44 years, Tommy is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Teresa (Trott) Campbell and her husband, Ned, of Virginia Beach and Allison T. Trott and Mike Entsminger of Staunton; a brother and sister-in-law, Sydney E. "Eddie" Trott Jr. and his wife, Jeri R., of Staunton; a sister and brother-in-law, Harriet W. (Trott) Sandy and her husband, Gene, of Staunton; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carlton and Pat Wagner of Tabb; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Beverly and Sammy Richardson of Staunton; five grandchildren, Trey, Brandon and Connor Campbell, Jayden Williams and Ashton Johnson; and a number of nieces, nephews and many close and special friends.
A celebration of Mr. Trott's life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, in First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Richard S. Dietrich.
Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday afternoon, Oct. 18, 2009, in Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory.
It is suggested that those desiring make memorial contributions to Valley Mission, 1513 W. Beverley St., Staunton, VA 24401; First Presbyterian Church, 100 E. Frederick St., Staunton, VA 24401; or to a charity of one's choice.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory at 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of his arrangements.
