Son of Reginald and Millie (Lomas) Haigh, Randolph was raised in Nelson, B.C. Following his high school graduation he moved to Trail, B.C. where he worked with Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company. He married Mary Morrison there on July 9, 1936.
He served in the Canadian Army during World War II. After the war Mr. and Mrs. Haigh moved to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory and in 1949 they moved to California. He was employed there as a truck driver until 1976 when he retired and they moved to Oak Harbor.
