Adolph I. "Rudy" Crawford, the of Loyal and Jennie (Adolphs) Crawford, was born at Hampton, Iowa, on June 14, 1908. He lived his youth and attended school at Hampton.

Rudy was united in marriage to Lyla Yates of Sanborn at Mankato, Minnesota, on August 26, 1933. Rudy and Lyla lived their entire married life in Sanborn where Rudy was engaged in construction as a contractor.

Rudy passed away at the Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer, Iowa, on March 22, 1989, at the age of 80 years, 9 months, 8 days.

He is survived by his wife Lyla of Sanborn; children: Robert of Monmouth, Illinois, Gene of San Diego, California, Harold of Spokane Washington, Kathy Ager of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Nancy Schuver of Spencer, Iowa, Karen Handeland of Whiting, Iowa, Patricia Mitchell; and Floretta Crawford; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, three brothers: James of Spirit Lake, Iowa; Edo f Hampton; and Loyal of Denver, Iowa; and two sisters: Louisa Taylor Of Hampton and Opal Schmidt of Saint Ansgar.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Louis, Russell, and Wilbert; one sister, Evelyn; and one son, Donald.

Rudy will be remembered for his masonry work in Sanborn and he enjoyed his hobbies of fishing and woodworking.

Funeral services were held at Saint Andrews United Methodist church of Sanborn on March 25, with Rev. Keith Pals, officiating.

Burial was in Roseland Cemetery with Sanborn Funeral Home in Charge.
