Kenneth Ray Lamb, 59, of Greenfield passed away June 25, 2016, at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, following an extended illness with cancer.

He was surrounded and supported during his illness by loving family, dear friends and wonderful hospital staff.

He was born on July 29, 1956, at Boyd Memorial Hospital in Carrollton to Robert D. and Netta LaVern Lamb. His parents preceded him in death.

Ken is survived by his wife, Lissa; and children, Jake (wife, Beth), Luke and Thad (wife, Rachel), all of Greenfield, and Abby (husband, Randy) Schnettgoecke of Carrollton. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Maizee, Adalinn, Avery, London, Sophie, Sawyer, Fallyn and Farrah Lamb, and Halley, Clay, Landry and Maeve Schnettgoecke. Brothers Robert J. Lamb of Greenfield and Eric (wife, Lesta) Lamb of Edwardsville,IL and sister Melissa (husband, Tom) Pantier of Spaulding,IL also survive.

Ken was a lifelong resident of Greenfield, graduating in 1974 from Greenfield High School. He married Lissa Linn on February 28, 1976, in Carrollton.

Ken worked for the family business, Bob Lamb Company, Inc., even before he graduated from high school. In time he became owner/operator of the company and enjoyed working there with his parents, children, other family members and employees, who also were close friends.

Ken was president of Woodbine Country Club for many years. He was a member of Greenfield Tiger Backers, serving as a grill master for its fundraisers, and a member of St. Michael's Men's Club and the Grain & Feed Association.

Ken was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hunting mushrooms, golfing and spending time on the lake with family and friends. He loved classic cars and enjoyed driving his convertibles in local parades.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Greenfield. The family will gather there for a private Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2016 with the Rev. Henry Schmidt presiding. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to direct memorials to: Carlinville Clay Busters Trapshooting, Woodbine County Club, St. Michael's Men's Club or Boyd Memorial Hospital. Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of arrangements.
