Charles Thomas Richmond, 67, of Denton, fought a long hard battle with lung cancer and was promoted to his Heavenly home on June 8, 2016. He was born December 14, 1948, in Henderson, TX, to Henry and Irene Richmond. He married Diane Deckard in Denton on March 14, 1984.

He enlisted in the Army when he was 17 and served in Germany and Vietnam. He was a Purple Heart recipient for being wounded twice while in Vietnam.

After leaving the Army he worked in the oil fields. He was a retired truck driver with more than 30 years experience of over the road driving.

Charles was a great story teller and he loved to tease everyone, including strangers, and especially kids. He loved his family and spending time at home with them. He was a kind, loving, gentle giant of a man. He loved to "putter" in his shop fixing or restoring things. He was a member at Cooper Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Hunter Pritchett.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane, his daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Justin Pritchett, grandchildren, Keaton, Taylor and Jase Pritchett of Whitesboro, Texas, brothers, Ronnie Richmond of Tyler, TX, Kevin Richmond (Monika) of Laquay, MO, sisters, Charolett McMullen of Fresno, CA, Patricia Kirby of Forrest City, AR, Carol McDowell of Russellville, KY, and Geneva Wallace of Caldwell, TX.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at 11:00, both at DeBerry Funeral Directors. He will be laid to rest at the DFW National Cemetery.
