Valerie Wallen Walker, age 79 of Bergman, Arkansas passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, Missouri.

The daughter of James Otis and Addie Mae (Robey) Hayes was born in Holcomb, Dunklin County, Missouri March 31, 1937.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st husband, William Earl "Billy" Wallen, her daughter, Ginger Sullivent, her 2nd husband, Bob Walker and her sister, Sharon Pickens.

Valerie had been a resident of Bergman since 1981, coming from Kennett, Missouri. She was a member of the Elixir Baptist Church and had volunteered at Hospice of the Hills in Harrison for a short time. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved her dog Molly, who was well known throughout the community. She was very outspoken and funny, and loved for her witty sense of humor. She enjoyed mowing her lawn and being active, always enjoying life to the fullest. She often told her family, "if you can't laugh about things, there was no point in living".

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda (Wallen) Harris and husband Jim "Chico" Harris of Bergman; her sister, Freda Brown and husband Oather of Geiger, AL; 3 granddaughters, Kelsey Trapp, Lauren McFarland and Leah Jones and husband Cameron; 4 great grandchildren, Brooklyn and Braden Trapp, Chloe McFarland and Haven Jones; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her and will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28 at Coffman Funeral Home in Harrison from 5-7 PM.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Maple Cemetery in Caruthersville, Missouri under the direction of H.S. Smith Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Hills, or the local chapters of the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
