A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Coffee Creek Christian Cemetery.
Born September 10, 1958, in Beech Grove, Indiana, Tony was the son of the late Ermil Ray Hamilton and Barbara Crunk Bedel. He graduated from Columbus East High School in 1976, and on October 9, 1987, he married Rhonda (Hensley) Hamilton. She survives.
Tony worked at Forster Electric and formerly was employed as a manager for Jay C Food Stores. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church. Tony enjoyed showing his classic 1974 Bronco.
In addition to his wife, Rhonda, Tony is survived by one son, Basile Hamilton of North Vernon; one brother, Mark Hamilton of Columbus; one sister, Nancy Daughtery of Columbus; his mother-in-law, Ann Hensley of Paris Crossing; one brother-in-law, Pascal (Susie) Hensley of Paris Crossing; and a nephew, Isaiah (Missy) Hensley of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ermil Hamilton and Barbara Bedel and father-in-law, Clyde Hensley.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Coffee Creek Christian Cemetery or St. Mary’s Church.
