She was born on March 25, 1946 in Rockville Centre, New York, the daughter of the late George Francis and Lillian Mary Arendt Von Zur Linde.
Priscilla was a 1964 graduate of Hudson Falls High School. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology from Albany College of Pharmacy in 1968. Mrs. Mitchell was employed as a Laboratory Technician for several area hospitals including St. Peter’s Hospital, Ellis Hospital and Nathan Littauer Hospital. Priscilla also worked for many years at Planned Parenthood in Gloversville. In 1991, she and her husband Lee purchased the former Winkelried Book Store in Gloversville and began operating “Mysteries on Main Street.” Her business relocated in 2002 to its current location at 144 West Main Street in Johnstown.
Mrs. Mitchell was of the Lutheran faith, a member of the former St. James Lutheran Church and the current Grace Lutheran Church. She was a proud member of the Fulton Montgomery Regional County Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include her husband Lee A. Mitchell whom she married on June 10, 1967, one son Peter Mitchell (Theresa “Terry”) of Scotch Plains, New Jersey; two daughters Carrie Locatelli (Matthew) of Greenville and Crystal Kneeland (Todd) of Boston, Massachusetts, one brother Robert Linde of Jacksonville, Florida; four grandchildren Lani Kneeland, Casey Kneeland, Timothy Mitchell and Daniel Mitchell and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
