Mrs. Rebeccah Edgar, wife of James Edgar, died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 at the family home, 314 thirteenth street, after a week's illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Edgar was stricken with the fatal disease just as her son, George Edgar, was in a convalescent state after an illness from the same ailment. Deceased's maiden name was Miss Rebeccah Hastings. She was born at Newmarket, Ohio, Sept. 1, 1859. When she was 8 years old her parents moved to Rock Island for residence. July 4, 1875, she was married to James Edgar. The ceremony was performed at Coal Valley. Besides her husband, Mrs. Edgar is survived by three children, James, Joplin, Mo.; George, Rock Island, and Mrs. Fannie Bingman, Fruitland, Iowa; a sister, Miss Ellen Hastings, Rock Island, and four brothers, Charles Hastings, Chicago, former fire chief of Rock Island, George Hastings, Mojave, Cal., and John and James Hastings, Rock Island. Mrs. Bingman arrived last Friday and the son, James Edgar, of Joplin arrived yesterday noon. Charles Hastings is expected to arrive this evening.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Marion Mumphreys, pastor of Central Presbyterian church will conduct the services.
