Bradley Kent Summers lived 58 incredible years on this beautiful earth. He was born May 18, 1958 in Logan, Utah, the youngest son of Lowell Poiney and Eva Marie Summers. He passed away on the morning of June 23, 2016. Brad married his true love and eternal companion, Mary Ann Thomson, on June 12, 1986 in the Logan Temple. They are blessed with seven children; Catherine, Bradley, Peter, Mark, Michael, Grace, and Anne.
Brad’s life exemplified his sincere love for people. His devotion to family and friends guided his every action. Brad always put others before himself. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. Brad was eager to share his passions and hobbies with those he loved.
Growing up in Logan, Brad had the idyllic childhood, fishing and playing in the Logan River near his home. He had boundless enthusiasm for nature and camping, which grew into a lifelong joy of adventure in the outdoors.
Brad was a dedicated and gifted student. He graduated from Logan High School in 1976. In 1982 he graduated summa cum laude from Utah State University with a degree in biology. He graduated from the University of Utah Medical School in 1986. Brad continued his education by completing a residency in dermatology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in 1990 and a fellowship in Mohs surgery at The Ohio State University in 1993.
After completing his education, Brad returned to Logan to raise his family. Being near his parents was important to Brad, who was a devoted and caring son. Lowell and Eva were blessed greatly by his tenderness and love. Brad practiced dermatology in Logan, Ogden, the University of Utah Medical Center and the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Brad regarded his patients as family and treated them with sincere compassion.
Brad valued his membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a deep love for and devotion to his Savior. Brad exemplified that love and devotion through the Christ-like life that he lived. From 1977-1979, Brad faithfully served a LDS mission to Tokyo, Japan. He has also served in a variety of teaching and leadership positions, including thirteen years working closely with the young men in the Boy Scouts of America. His life demonstrated the mission and ideals of scouting. He had a tremendous influence on the lives of many young men. Recently, Brad discovered a gift for the dramatic arts. He performed alongside his family in many community theatre productions.
Brad’s most cherished role is as a loving and caring husband and father. He always made his family his highest priority, sharing his love through the activities and adventures he provided. He made the dreams of his wife and children his own. Brad loved spending time in the great outdoors including; hiking, fishing, canoeing, ice skating, and teaching his children to ski at Beaver Mountain. He especially enjoyed their annual family reunion in the Tetons. Brad and his wife Mary Ann made their home a warm and loving place where all felt safe and loved. The countless memories he made with his family are his greatest gift and legacy.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1st, 11 a.m. at the Mount Logan Stake Center, 565 East 100 South, Logan. Friends and family are invited to call Thursday, June 30th from 6-8 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, and Friday, July 1st, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Mount Logan Stake Center.
