PUTNAM - Gary Brashear, 55, of Putnam died Thursday, June 23, 2016, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.
Born on May 10, 1961, to the late Roy and Shirley File Brashear in Highland, IL, he married Pam Harmon on August 5, 1989, in Lacon.
Gary was the Industrial Arts teacher in the Henry Senachwine High School for 17 years, later becoming the Superintendent of Deland-Weldon High School. He was a member of the Illinois Association of Teachers and the Illinois Association of School Administrators.
Gary is survived by his wife, Pam; daughter, Janet (Jared) Barker of Metamora; sons, Michael (Katie) of Peoria Heights and Jonathon (Christina) of Cullom; sister, Sheri Potts of Greenville; and 5 grandchildren, Zachary, Kevin, Heather, Derik and James.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Roy and Robert.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Lenz Memorial Home, with Richard Kerr officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 to 7 p.m., also at Lenz. Burial will be at Fort Dever Cemetery in rural Washburn. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude. Online condolences can be left at lenzmemorialhome.com.
