Charlotte Bertha Fox, 87, of Wayland, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois. She was born April 16, 1929, the daughter of Wesley Luke Cannon and Bernice (Crum) Cannon. She married the love of her life on September 4, 1947, David McCabe "Bud" Fox at the Methodist parsonage in Kahoka, Missouri.
She is survived by her two sons, David Kent Fox and wife Lynne of Quincy, Illinois; and Kevin Wynn Fox and wife Paula of near St. Patrick, Missouri; four grandchildren: David Todd Fox and wife Stephanie; Rhonda Holt and husband John; Kurt Fox and wife Dawn, and Amanda McCreedy and husband Colin; seven great grandchildren: Carter Fox, Madison Fox, Quinn Holt, Brecken Fox, Ella Kate Fox, Luke Holt and McCabe McCreedy; one sister, Barbara Steele; three brothers: Edwin Cannon and wife Deloris; Keith Cannon and wife Joan; Rodney Cannon and wife Arlene, sisters-in-law: Ella Cannon, who was her special friend, Betty Fox, and Sally Fox; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David McCabe Fox, her parents: Wesley and Bernice Cannon, and three brothers: Guy Cannon, Robert Cannon and Kenneth Cannon.

Charlotte was a devoted member of the Alexandria Presbyterian Church, Past Elder at Alexandria Presbyterian and at the time of her death was serving as Sunday School Treasurer, Preschool Sunday School Teacher and Church Historian, all of which she served for many, many years. One of the pleasures of being a Sunday school teacher was being able to start young people with a good Christian foundation for their life, and her great grandson McCabe was one of her last students. Charlotte had also taught the adults and young adults over the years as well as Vacation Bible School, and was committed to the Women of the Church organization. She loved her church family has much as she did her biological family.

In 1947, Charlotte graduated from beautician school and did hair for many family and friends over the years. She was a member of the Kahoka #40 Order of the Eastern Star-Wayland and sixty year member of the Primrose FCE Club. Charlotte also served as the Survivor Chairman for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Clark County for fifteen years.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at DeJong-Greaves Celebration of Life Center at 917 Blondeau Street, with Rev. David Castrodale officiating. Burial will follow in Sand Cemetery in St. Francisville, Missouri. Visitation will be held after 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 18, 2016, with family meeting friends from 6 to 8 PM.
